How to get yourself out of a rut

We have all had that time (or times) in our lives when we feel like we are just stuck in a really bad rut. We wake up feeling super unmotivated to accomplish just about anything.

Your list of goals is starting to pile up and it seems like the mountain is too high to climb and you don't have the right pair of hiking shoes. Once things start compounding like that, it seems easier to just forget about even starting anything. The "ill just scroll social media" mentality kicks in.

But I am here to tell you that anything you want in this life with reason is achievable. Most of the time when we have a big list of goals to accomplish we are making a mountain out of a molehill. This means the tasks are actually easier to achieve and our minds are making us believe it's not.

Here is a list of ways to step outside your thoughts and get your mind thinking in the right direction. Really think about your goals, what you want, and where you see yourself in 4 months? because 4 months from today, you don't want to be looking back wishing you started then.

Number 1 - Excuses

  • Are you making excuses as to why you can't do something?
  • Are you putting your time into things that are not moving you in the right direction?
  • Uncover the real reason that's holding you back.
  • If you don't have time for something, try waking up earlier.

Don't let internal or external factors control your movements in life, try to rise above that and take ownership of the direction you want your life going in.

Number 2 - What is most important to you?

  • Write out your goals
  • Have a checklist, cross one thing off pre-day.
  • Focus on the biggest task at hand first, once you accomplish that everything else is a breeze.
  • What would change everything around?

"Your only limit is your mind"

Number 3 - Turn your shoulds into must

  • Stop saying “I should do that” or “I need to do that”
  • Even if you put 1 hour into 1 goal every day, by the end of the week you have put 7 hours into that goal. Just think about that.
  • Every time you put something off that's another day you lost where it could have been done with.

Number 4 - Create healthy habits

  • What are you eating? Try cooking more meals at home
  • Start journaling your routine and track your moods
  • Start working out
  • Listen to motivational or personal development videos.

Number 5 - Changes

  • Start making small changes in your life, they add up to big results.
  • Read books about successful people
  • Write down affirmations
  • Learn about yourself. Your likes and dislikes.

Create a morning routine you’re proud of (I have a great one on my website)

"Focus on the step in front of you, not the whole staircase"

After all guys we are all human beings, living in this crazy world together. We should have grace with ourselves and understand that not every day will be perfect.

We are going to have challenges in our lives, but we have got to see the light in the darkness and have the confidence and courage to move forward a create a life that's fulfilling and filled with happiness.

Where do you want to be 4 months from today?
